Making the same mistakes will hurt your brain. Because what you think about matters most. When you love and respect yourself you will do the right things by you. This is being selfish in a good way because you take care of yourself. When you take care of yourself, you will be able to take care of other people too.
But we all make the same mistakes until we finally figure it out. I want you to figure it out faster. What you think about your situation is important because they become habits and that’s what today’s video is all about! Please watch the video.
I tell a couple of stories in here. One is called Autobiography in Five Short Chapters. And they’re all about personal responsibility.
Some people automatically go in this direction: they take responsibility to mean blame. Not at all. Going back to my first paragraph it’s all about doing right for yourself first so that you can take care of other people. You can give what you have. You can’t give what you don’t have.
My own cancer scare taught me these three things:
1) It was my own negative world view that was causing me my troubles.
2) I was very ungrateful for the good life that was actually there.
3) I had to stop being a victim.
It all meant that I was the only one who could stop the roller coaster I was on, because I was being led by then, unknown forces, which I know today came from MY own mind. I began to take control. But it’s still a learning process.
Making the same mistakes hurts your brain because anything that keeps repeating (and getting worse) means you keep thinking the same bad thoughts over and over. That’s a habit. That’s hardwired into your brain. If it’s bad, it’s stressful and stress shrinks your brain!
A concussion is about mental confusion that already existed around the time of your concussion. There was already a lack of mental clarity. Something happened to cause confusion and a loss of direction.
Please take heart. There is hope for you. The brain is very malleable. You can change your situation when you make a courageous decision to make the necessary positive and constructive changes you need to make. Stop making the same mistakes over and over. Today!
