Productivity Myths are things that people tell you, you should do in order to become more productive. But doesn’t productivity really mean that you should actually get the work done in order to be productive? These myths definitely add to the confusion.
Productivity myths actually lead to a lot more stress, needless suffering and LACK of productivity. It’s because people lose track of why they’re doing something. They focus on problems instead of the goal. Since there’s so much stress, it WILL affect your brain health (and because everything is connected), your emotional health and physical health elsewhere.
Here are the signs of a harassed brain and what WILL happen and probably IS happening right now to your brain!

Here are some quick tips to counter productivity myths. Do this:
- Decide that you’re going to control your own time.
- Know why you work on anything. This is BIG because if you know why, then it will have meaning and you’ll feel compelled to do it.
- Block Time. Block time is scheduling chunks of time in advance when you can have the time to do the work. There are no results unless you do the work. Guard that time jealously. Make it known that this is important. Encourage others to do the same.
- etc…
