I talked about worry and anxiety in my last post. Today I’ll give you specific tools and strategies to let go of them. Let me recap: if you allow worry and anxiety to dominate your emotionset and your mindset, you ARE potentially doing yourself a lot of harm.
The more you are in this state of mind and state of emotion, the more you are putting yourself into a very painful and endless cycle. You have to get out of it sooner rather than later. I share with you the strategies that will catapult you out of it.
I‘m not saying instant either. It’s not a quick fix – if you want a permanent solution. As with anything else, it requires attention and some work to get through the fear and take control of your feelings and thoughts. I no longer talk about problem solving, I am talking about possibility thinking and here’s why.

I’ll summarize here:
- Problem solving vs Possibility thinking: the more you focus on the problem, the more the problem gets worse.
- Remember from last time – worry is a prayer about something bad that could happen.
- Worry sucks the life energy out of you and everyone else around you.
- Here are two concepts I teach to all my students, in seminars and one-on-one:
- What do you really have control over? Yes, of course you will say, “Only myself!” But do you really know what that means? Watch the video
- What do you not have control over? Ever think of the flip side of the coin? Watch the video.
- What are you really responsible for? Again, you guessed correctly, “Me!” But let’s be explicit about it and break it out.
- These two things are the reasons why there is so much worry and anxiety out there.
- Next, my worry exercise:
- Identify the things that bother or worry you and cause you anxiety.
- Then next to each one and I want complete honesty here: Do I really have control over this? And Am I really responsible for it?
- Ask these questions about each one and then go over each one again to see which ones you are BOTH in control and are responsible for and THAT is the reason for the worry and anxiety in your life.
