You never know when inspiration hits you, but here it was staring me right in the face. I thought to myself, “I’ve got to write this down!” But it would only last a few seconds and then it would be gone, buried behind a ton of posts.
I hardly look at my Twitter feed. Too much noise. Not enough substance. But there it was. I quickly copied it to a file and saved it. What was it that I saw?
“I never used to worry about my weight, my clothes, or my looks. I just did what made me happy.”
Inspiration! It was irresistible. I just had to reply to this person because he obviously felt regret or sadness about how his life was turning out.
This is what I said to him:
“You just gave yourself the answer! Just do what makes you happy!”
Inspiration is this: it’s often a sudden brilliant, creative, or timely idea. But you can hold on to that inspiration. It makes life juicy. It makes life meaningful. And FUN!
This inspiration hit me: Life as a child is supposed to be carefree. Well, why did that end? Has it REALLY ended? Ask yourself right now. What are the answers that appear in your mind?
Do the things that make you happy and your problems WILL disappear. It actually takes hard work to achieve those things that make us happy. It also takes resolve, determination, stick-to-itiveness, stubbornness, focus. But while you’re working on it, you have PURPOSE. It has meaning! That’s where the inspiration comes in.
Do you complain about being unable to focus or to concentrate? Could it be that you’re doing things that don’t interest you at all? It’s hard to focus on something if you’re uninterested!
When you’re doing the things you love, you have energy. You feel alive. You have inspiration and creativity. For many people, they can’t wait until the weekend or when they leave work. They can’t wait for retirement. Do you feel this way?
Happiness gives your energy. In my last post, I talked about how nature does exactly what she wants. All the time. I want to talk about what being in harmony does to your body.
The Liver is one of the major organs in Chinese Medicine. Structurally it is the metabolic centre of your body. Lots of chemical reactions go on in there, all day long. It generates energy. This is how Western medicine sees it.
But there’s more to it than that. The Chinese observed eons ago, the effect of the emotions on the Liver. The Liver in harmony inside you, when you feel harmonious and happy include:
1. Smooth and soothing flow of energy through your entire person; you have energy to enjoy life.
2. Energy spreads to your arms and legs, to help you to participate in all the things you enjoy, like your sport and your work
3. A peaceful mind, therefore no stress, i.e. unhappiness.
4. Unerring judgment, self-confidence, trust in yourself
5. The ability to make decisions.
6. The ability to have the courage and resolve to carry out your plans.
7. Intuition, which is ALL about trusting yourself!
These are the most important attributes pertaining to energy flow in you. But all of life flows because all of life is made of energy. Nature. Since you’re part of nature, you’re also made of energy. And quantum physics has figured that out.
Let inspiration guide you! You’re either going with that flow or you’re going against it. When you’re doing the things that make you happy, you’re going with the flow. Get it? Go to it, then!
