The term Invisible Disease is about ignorance. It’s used to describe mental illness. And ignorance abounds in conventional medicine. Gosh they’re trying to help people with so-called mental illness, but they don’t know how because they can barely define it. But they have a lot of names for it, like depression and schizophrenia.
In my medicine, it was well known that people who feel bad, will be affected physically. We know what it looks like. The clues are there, even just by looking at your face, at your body, how you walk, even how you breathe. The signs are there to be seen but only if you know what “normal” looks like. It is NOT invisible disease.
Whenever you’ve been upset for a long time, you are suffering and suffering is a form of mental illness – all it is, is feeling bad. It’s not invisible disease at all, because people can see how your behave, if they would only admit it. They don’t have any lab tests to figure it out. But we have simple questions just to find out how you feel your life is going. That’s what’s important.
It’s no different from having pain or injury or a chronic disease. Modern medical science only cares about what it “sees”. That’s what they call evidence based medicine. But even when presented with symptoms that they can see, they still think you’re healthy because your test results all line up “healthy”. And yet, some of my clients suffered from panic attacks and went to emergency, had all kinds of physical symptoms, but they were sent home because they were told there was nothing wrong with them. But my clients knew there was something wrong and they felt betrayed by a system that’s supposed to help them. Then they met me.
In my world, there is no such thing as an invisible disease. If something is wrong, I can already see it. I can hear it from what you talk about. If you’re whiny or complaining or blaming, I know there’s a problem. This is mental illness. Whenever you’re unhappy on a prolonged basis, you’re suffering a mental illness. It’s only a matter of time that you’ll have uncomfortable physical symptoms. These days, it doesn’t take long to manifest something.
I’m not saying that being unhappy, eq. angry, sad, afraid, upset, etc, is wrong. It’s okay that you feel the way that you do. But it hurts you when you hold on to it. When someone says something to you and it hurts your feelings, it’s real, but you also choose to feel this way. The brave thing to do is to realize, is that no matter what anyone says to you, it’s all about them.
Oh, they may blame you for something, but it’s their choice to feel the way they do. Just as I said a minute a go about your choice. What anyone thinks or says, what you think or say, is all about how you feel. No one made you think or feel this way except yourself. That’s why that story about the guy who woke up every morning said he had two choices, is a very good illustration. He could either have a good day or he was going to have a bad day. He chose the good day.
That’s resiliency. So there’s no such thing as invisible disease. You can control this. But you have to choose. Would you rather be healthy or would you rather be miserable. Very few things in life are so black and white. But the state of your health isn’t a matter of shades of grey. It requires conscious effort. Anything that’s worth having takes conscious effort and energy. It’s not an invisible disease. You can feel it and you CAN do something about it!
