The next emotional state that affects your menstrual cycle is sadness. Deep sadness and grief both hurt the Lungs and the Heart, because their in the same place (other prolonged emotional states can hurt either of these organs, too).
There could be a lack of Blood, which can create either very scanty periods or very pale blood, a lack of Qi energy to push the blood out, or even more pain because there is little blood to push out. there could be a lack of energy too.
It is normal to feel sadness and grief when you lose something, anything, which means a lot to you, such as the death of someone you are close to, a lifestyle, a job or career, etc. There is a normal grieving period.
But it’s when you hold on for too long, like years or decades that you do harm. For instance the husband of a friend of mine: his mother died on New year’s Eve. Ever since then, he hasn’t felt he can go out and celebrate this occasion.
So he suffers. You have to realize that whenever anything like this happens, moving on is very important to your well being and mental state. It’s the art of letting go.
Everything happens for a reason. Everyone leaves this earth on their choosing, too. When they let go, honour it by living as well as you can.
