Keeping a good head of hair is not difficult to do, even when there may be a genetic possibility. A well known saying in Chinese Medicine states that when one is born healthy and strong, if they live and eat badly, they can lose all that good health, whereas when one is born weak and sickly, they can become strong and healthy, if they do all the right things. You do have control over your situation.
In North America, a major factor creating receding hairlines is a diet that is too high in protein. That means eating too much concentrated animal protein to the exclusion of almost everything else. You know the drill: don’t like eating vegetables and fruit, but give him a 16 oz steak with potatoes and he’ll stay forever.
But it’s plant foods that provide the nutrients that keep you totally healthy. Do you take care of your car better than you take care of yourself? Do you give your car the right fuel to run it properly? Would you skip the special premium gas for your Lamborghini and pump regular gas into it? Would you take it to a domestic car garage instead of to the dealership for servicing? So your body and YOU are special too. Take care of it by giving yourself exactly what you need to keep healthy.
From a Traditional Chinese Medical point of view, the following things hurt your Kidney energetic system. Too much hard work and/or too much hard playing, and/or too much sexual activity wear out your Adrenal/Kidney Energetic system. But it’s an individual thing, what is too much.
But you’ll know it, because you feel tired often. You’re not performing in these areas at an optimum level. The Kidneys also govern the brain, you know!
Without adding energy and at the same time, using it all up, you will suffer from premature hair loss (and also premature graying, weak brittle bones, sore back and knees, eventual loss of libido, etc). Does any of this sound like you or someone you know?
The emotions also play a role as discussed yesterday. Fear affects the Adrenal/Kidney system. So if there was severe and prolonged fright or fear or negative stress experienced by a person, than that also drains the system energetically. The solution is to listen to what your body tells you. If you’re tired, rest. If you’re hungry eat nutritious foods. If you’re feeling fearful or stressed out, then learn to calm yourself and do something positive with your feelings. Play your sports and work, but not to excessive amounts. You must always return what is used up or you end up losing even more.
